Eleven forbidden books from the 16th century, hidden for centuries inside a wall, come back to light in this virtual exhibition created for the Seminar of Renaissance Studies and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Virtual Exhibition “The Library of Barcarrota” is dedicated to the digital showcasing of a unique discovery in the history of Spanish bibliographic heritage: eleven books that were hidden for centuries inside a wall of a house in the Extremaduran town of Barcarrota. The exhibition offers an immersive journey through this literary treasure from the 16th century, blending history, forbidden literature, and mystery, allowing visitors to explore each work and its context through an interactive digital experience.
