Material Authority is a research project from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona that studies how mining and metal extraction shaped political and commercial power in Japan between 1520 and 1720. The team investigates how mines not only generated wealth but also structures of authority, management, and trade, positioning mining as a central element in the transformations of early modern Japan.
We were responsible for the bespoke web design, front-end development and custom WordPress with block editor.
